19TbirdSC91
I got laid off on Thursday. So if anyone knows anything about warehouse jobs available please let me know. I'd like to make at least $13+ an hour. I know how to drive forklifts and cherry/order pickers quite well. Was at my last job for over 2 years before they cut me. So if anyone around here knows of anything you can shoot me a PM. Thanks for your help in advance! Sean
HotCarl
Honestly the only job in that type of field that I've heard of lately is the Kroger warehouse in Delaware off 36/37. Its shitty order selector type job but you will get a shit ton of OT and they start around 12-13 I THINK, dont quote me on that.
19TbirdSC91
A buddy of mine actually already checked into that. They only offer part time so I don't know how much overtime you would actually get, unless if you ended up working 40 hours, then you would be getting OT. And I have no problem at all working 40 cuz im used to getting like 48-50 hours a week.
Clifford Automotive
40 Hours Part Time is not overtime. Good luck to you.

No, I'm saying say your shift is supposed to be 30 hours, and you end up working 40 hours, you would have 10 hours of OT, no?

No. Unless your employer is feeling generous, OT doesn't kick in until you've done 40 in a work week.
HotCarl
I worked there for several years. When they use the term "part time" they are simply saying that your a non-union worker. Trust me you will get 40+ hours by working there. However your OT pay will only start after 40hrs (as in any other job). Dont ask me why they call it "part time" when your really not its just the term they have used since starting the union there. However, once you go "fulltime" and become part of the union and on the seniority list, your pay goes up to 15.xx I think and your benefits are a hell of alot better. Mostly due to union contract stipulations and such. I will warn you, back in the day guys worked there for 2+ years before going 'fulltime', sometimes longer. I dont know what its like for part timer's there now though. I do know they're behind on work and need people like crazy.
19TbirdSC91
Oh ok, I've never had to deal with part time or "part time" jobs before lol. Makes since though.
bigflee
I worked at Fed Ex 17-20 hrs a week Monday thru Friday and if I came in Saturday on my scheduled day off it was OT. State law is that over 40 hrs is OT but I guess its really up to the employer when OT starts.
