Plumber Needed - Tankless Water Heaters

I am in need of an education on these.

 

Does anyone here have the knowledge it takes to replace a standard water heater with a tankless?

 

It looks like a Tankless is about $1k, but a shit-ton cheaper on gas usage.

Hit up yance next weekend. He put one in when he added on to his family's house. I used it for the sink and it worked well. Shouldn't be any different for the shower once it heats up.

I can't help with install info, but I can tell you that you will love it. Our house has one because the people before us put in a huge jacuzzi tub that drained the tank. Besides the very nice reduction in gas bills, it is nice to take a 20 minute scalding hot shower if you feel like it without worrying about running out.

 

It was also nice when our 8 week old had breathing problems and the best thing for him was a steamy room. Shower ran for a long time and had ridiculous hot water.

Simple install, just run cold water in, hot out. You have to vent it just like a gas water heater.

I saw a program that covered one of these awhile back. Been interested in them ever since. However, I obviously won't get one since I live in a rental. I've only heard good things.

I've been thinking about it as well. Definitely interested in hearing how much the install is.

 

I was thinking about going the electric route:

i was actually looking at these too, since im about to move and i think the heater in there is getting to the end of its life...ive seen some at lowes for <$600
