ponyjr1647545514
My 98 mustang GT is making noise while the clutch pedal is out, but goes away after i push the pedal in. I'm assuming that it means the throw out bearing is bad. Anyone have an idea as to how much it will cost to replace? Should i replace the clutch while I'm at it? ponyjr1647545514
I believe the clutch is stock.I had the transmission rebuilt about 5,000 miles ago. They did not replace the clutch. Car has 108,000 on it.

Guest Removed
what kind of clutch you buying? very goos idea to get a cable kit with the soild quad, and fire wall adjuster. best way to get a good feel, and the release where you want it. and dont mess around with some cheap performance clutch either if you plan a lot of mods later. anything dont to it now? Guest Removed
then the king cobra kit will be fine. highly recommend a kit like this also. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/60141/10002/-1 so that way you can get the pedal feel you want. and if its the stock cable, its the best them to do. that new clutch will stretch the old one

Lustalbert
Throwout bearing, or input shaft bearing. The latter makes for an awesome sounding transmission. Kind of like 5 pounds of ball bearings lose in a washing machine.
ponyjr1647545514
yep that's what it sounds like. I was told that they did replace the throw out bearing and friction plate but I don't believe that they did. I'm trying to find a receipt. My dad's friends dealership did the work. My dad won't let me take the car anywhere else, even though they fuck my car up each time it goes in there.

Maybe you should just tell your dad that everytime it goes there, it comes back messed up. Good luck.
