MrMeanGreen
Deadheaded because with the hotwire kit, my pump was on full voltage all the time. The excess fuel had nowhere to go and was deadheading into the fuel rails, causing pressure issues. I ran a return line back into the tank using the OEM evap access along with two in-tank pumps and my problem was fixed and then some. However, this is a boost reference versus just static pressure. Also, my OEM FPR was in-tank, not in-line like the newer cars. I took mine out.

I took mine out. his regulator is in the tank. the oe pump see's battery voltage all the time anyway. the only reason to add the hotwire kit, is so the factory wiring dont get burned up from a aftermarket pump. after system is designed to deadhead at the rails. hence its name returnless. if yours was a returnless system, like im thinking it was, then i think he is getting to the point where its time to put rails and afpr up front. MrMeanGreen
Yep, just ditch the OEM regulator and run rails and a AFPR out front like mine. Made a world of difference.

koolrayz
Here is my setup using the factory rails. I made an adapter at the rails that hooks were the pulsation dampner went. It relieves into the vent line to the tank. In the back I crossed the lines from the vent into the return then took the disc out of the factory regulator in the tank. I have a new setup and will sell the cut to length hoses and all adapter fittings. I am keeping the regulator. Brain, PM me if your interested in buying it http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC02962.jpg

V8 Beast
Man my Subaru started right up this morning and I drove right to work and was early. Yeah, slow grocery getters are notorious for getting people to work early. Cliffs: My car drives fine but it cant race because of fuel pressure. If it were your Subaru then there wouldnt be an issue... but I race my car

koolrayz
ray i dont see a return in that pic The long hose connects to the stock fuel rail (presure side). The hose on the bottom with the 90 is the regulators return it has the blue adapter to the stock vent line. My fuel pressure went from 5psi loss to rock solid on the rails with this setup. I would have stayed with it had I not went to a victor intake and had to buy aftermarket rails.

Guest Hal
This has peaked my interest. I really want to see this setup, I didn't look closely last time i saw Ray's car.
koolrayz
Rob I talked to Brian and I will be sending the regulator and the rails see picture of what I am sending. See small hardline with cap? Take the return line off Brians car at the block and screw this in to the block(see picture #2). Un hook the old hard returnline from the plastic line where it returns to the tank. The vent line now returns the fuel to the back of the car but it cant go through the fuel tank vent system. Unhook the hard vent line from the plastic vent line at the back of the car by the tank. Now hook the hard vent line to the plastic return line, you have to bend it a little. See the picture where I point to the connection. Take the regulator out of the fuel bucket and your done. I took all of the engine bay vent line and solenoid and pitched it. Plug the port on the throttle body. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC05334.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC05333.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC05332.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC05331.jpg
