Hwilli1647545487
I want one, but I don't know which one. I know I DON'T want an AK, or PTR91 (too front heavy). Not too keen on SKS either though they are fun to shoot. Looking for versitility, a somewhat common round (so Ammo isnt impossible to find), and fun to shoot. I like .308, but it doesn't have to be that round. Sell me.

V8 Beast
I plan on getting an AR15 here soon. I've been doing research and pming people on the board.... I want an M14, but an AR15 is a good starter (from what I've been told).

Scotty2Hotty
M1A SOCOM, or the M1A Scout rifle (M14) with a VLTOR stock will be up your alley. http://www.gregpopik.com/pics/IMG_6622.jpg Or DPMS/Armalite make spin offs of the M110 SASS http://i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr53/Rigamortous/DSC_0007.jpg Tough thing is the SR25 mags they usually take, $65+ per mag, but shoots 7.62X51mm NATO (.308)

Scotty2Hotty
An M1A/M14 isn't an "assault rifle", it's a Battle Rifle.
Guest Hal
I would go with an M1A like Scott posted, they're a blast to shoot. They are expensive, which is a negative. The M1A Socom will be my next semiauto rifle.
cinergi
A battle axe is a wonderful assault weapon.

Dave1647545494
I've always been happy with my M1 carbine, but the prices are pretty retarded on them right now if you can find one you might try a tommy gun it shoots .45 auto and has an availiable 100 round drum mag
