Akula Posted May 4, 2009 Report Share Posted May 4, 2009 In order to be done right, they have to take up the basement floor, dig down 2 feet and put in peagravel and piping, then the abatement pump has to be plumbed. it can be done for less by trenching around the edge of the basement, same stones etc... and that can help but you don't want to skimp on this. Thansk for the tips, not exactly good news but it will be good to get it done right. Can't the existing sump pit be used as a low-point to draw from? Down here, it is unheard of. Actually North Central Ohio is home to some of the highest levels of Radon in the country. I only know this from doing a programming project for a Radon testing company that was starting up and needed software to operate very old detectors.
