Conesmasher
I currently have my cable modem/router set up in a bedroom of my house. I'm thinking I'd like to move it downstairs. I'm thinking of running a cable splitter, one line to the cable box, the other to the cable modem. Should this be as simple as it sounds? ODoyle
Yup, that's how mine is setup.. and pretty much anyone else who has cable tv and internet. Truth.
Nitrousbird
Umm, yeah, talk about a pile of wrong, uneducated, "because it worked for me it will work for you" info in this thread. What are your current transmit/receive levels? What splits are you off of on your new outlet? Don't know, then don't play cable guy and have a professional come out and do it for you. RadDawg
There is a lot more to it if you've got AT&T U-Verse. Have to have phone line and swap cable connection at the splitter where the cable enters the house. PITA, but doable.
