armin922
Ok, so my car has no more ac. I was thinking of refillin it by myself. I was looking at the refill kit at the store for 40 bux. Has any of u used this? Is it safe? I was jw. THANKS
ponyjr1647545514
The kits are easy to use. But normally if you don't have any in there, there has to be a reason. Most likely some kind of a leak. The kits with stop leak wont fix it, just delay it from coming out so easily. Some of those kits have UV dye in them to help you find the leak. KillJoy
Personally, I would Stop Leak w/ Dye, and Refill it. If you have to top it off every Month for $4.95, that is cheaper than a $200 Compressor... at least for a while... KillJoy

unfunnyryan
Can anyone on here inspect AC systems? Mine runs, doesn't blow any hot air or anything, but its just so weak compared to any other car I've been in, and seems like nothing compared to the AC in my moms BMW. I've had it recharged before, but I don't know if they did all that great of a job (if they did anything at all...)

Kevin R.
I just used the re-charge kit 10 minutes ago. Worked flawlessly.... Screw paying $40 though. Just buy the hose thing on eBay or something and buy a can of refrigerant.
Dave1647545494
so if i just put refrigerant myself it wont do anything because theres probably some sort of leak? you can charge it yourself you need thehose and a couple cans of r134a it may last all summer it may last a few hours depends on the leak
armin922
ok well she just told me that the pulley for the ac compressor isnt spinning? She called me and told me that. So im gonna have to see it. It makes a loud when she uses the AC, so i think the compressor may be going out. What do u guys think. We checked it with a gauge and it said it was full of freon. No leaks or anything i dont think. But i think the compressor may be going out.
Dave1647545494
sounds like the a/c clutch is shot if its easy to get to you can change just the clutch without pulling the compressor, check pricing though sometimes the whole thing remaned is cheaper than a clutch alone
armin922
so pretty much id just unscrew that pulley on the compresor which is the AC clutch and put the new one on?
