Engine bay cleanup

Sorry to thread hi-jack, but I did not see the need to make a new thread.

 

Todd, I noticed that the engine bay in that tutorial was only slightly dirty. Would the same cleaning technique be effective in an engine bay like mine?

There is some fairly heavy crud in there. I bought the truck recently like that and it has been bothering me. This thread was the perfect opportunity to ask. Thanks!

I used purple power in a spray bottle and shop rags on my rx7. I pulled the engine though so it made it a lot easier but I didn't even use the full bottle, maybe only half and I did the complete bay, kmember,and front suspension pieces, came out looking great.

I ended up doing the same thing on my FD. Had to scrub a bit of stuff with a brush to get the heavier deposits. Came out awesome looking though. Well worht the time.
