cash for appliances? wth are you talking about?

 

like cash for clunkers...he wants it for appliances...take your old stove in and get cash towards a newer appliance etc...its not real

i can only imagine it was some sort of obama-bailout-esque type deal, just from the sound of it.

I remember Yahoo had a story on this topic last week actually. Some dumb ass group is proposing that the next program that would be good for the environment and the economy would be this "Cash for Appliances" crap. Basically you bring in your old inefficient energy-wasting appliances for government money towards new stuff.

 

I can see this being mishandled just a badly as cash for clunkers, so I say no.

Makes a lot more sense than c4c. Especially for old refrigerators, they are energy hogs by far the second largest energy user in your house behind heat/ac.

 

There are already programs in place for this, they are just talking about having them better funded.

 

We are going to run into energy use issues in the future, especially from an infrastrcuture standpoint. Look at the rolling brown/blackouts in cali.
