BradyPPC
Had a customer bring in his 09 GT500 today. The car is bone stock with 1200 miles on it. We added a Metco 2.6 upper pulley, Metco 90mm aux idler, JLT CAI, 1 heat range colder spark plug, and a custom tune. The combination netted a gain of 131hp/117tq at the wheels. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/compare.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/after-1.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/DSC02873.jpg We used the JLT Blue Carbon Fiber intake. It is hard to tell in the pic but the color actually matches the car pretty well. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/DSC02869.jpg Here is a stock pic of the front of the blower a well as the factory airbox. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/DSC02862.jpg Pic of the JLT/Metco setup from the front. We use the large idler off to the side of the blower pulley to add a little more belt wrap around the smaller 2.6 pulley. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/DSC02867.jpg Here is the hard data. The car picked up 131hp @ 6000 rpm and 117 lb-ft tq @ 2250. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/Page1.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/Page2.jpg As always, thanks for taking the time to look! DKilbourne
Nothing like making that much more power/torque with a pulley/intake swap and a tune. I'm sure the customer is very happy with the car....for now. Bigger blower and supporting mods to come
Cordell
God damn! Pretty cool for just a few bolt-ons.

oh8sti
arent these things still 12 second cars even with 500whp?
Miller
arent these things still 12 second cars even with 500whp? Tire and driver mod will net you mid to low 11's.
Twistedrx7
I have a question. KB sells their Super charger and a dial in tune. Do you know how accurate their tunes are that they send you? It seems that no matter what it feels like it isnt making the power it should be. This is on a 07 gt500.

I'm sure all of the guys tuning around town would agree.
DKilbourne
arent these things still 12 second cars even with 500whp? If someone can't get one of these past the 12's on tires with 500 wheel, then it's time to give up the keys.

BradyPPC
The customer picked the car up today. We did a pull this morning so he could see the car on the dyno. We basically got it up to operating temp and did the pull before the intake temps really got hot. Made 539/527. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/GT500/John/glorypull.jpg Customer was all smiles on the test drive! He was very pleased to say the least. In my opinion, mail order tunes are either hit or miss. Personally, I dont do them as I would rather have the car in front of me and work off the data it presents. How much boost is the KB running? Have you ever had it on the dyno to verify that everything is in line? Mail order tunes aren't the way to go. A custom tune for each car is the way the go. I'm sure all of the guys tuning around town would agree. I agree completely. Some cars respond better to certain things than others. I have had a few GT500's in here that all liked the same a/f timing combo and then I have had one that I ran at almost 3 degrees less than I normally would just because it didnt pick up any power with the additional timing. The car was brand new, bone stock, and in great working order, it just didnt like the timing and I wont run it unless it likes it. You would never know that without seeing it on the dyno though. arent these things still 12 second cars even with 500whp? Should be mid to low 11's with tires and the right driver. The biggest thing holding these things back is the stock 3.31 gears.

I bet the expression was priceless He said he was only expecting 70-80 hp and maybe 100 lb-ft above stock. He about flipped when I showed him the graph. I thought he was going to kill us on the test drive afterwards. My pucker factor is pretty high too!!
