kirks5oh Posted November 20, 2009 Report Share Posted November 20, 2009 I'm pretty sure that this was one of the reasons that drain cleaners went to sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite, bleach. Used to be a semi-diluted sulfuric acid blend that when mixed with the aluminum created a nice hydrogen gas. Can't say that I ever made one, but I knew a lot of people that did. yep, that's what i was under the impression of. we used to have it down to a science---you leave the works in your garage on a winter night, and the bomb might take 30 minutes to go off Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
