87GT
I am only bringing this up because this game is free and pretty awesome. You might have heard of it before. It was made from Japan by "Doukutsu". If you download the deluxe version it has everything translated to English. Easiest way to explain this game is it a full screen side scroller. It plays like metroid, zelda 2 and castlevania ds games. There is a lot of RPG aspects to it and most NPCs you have to talk to before you can get to a certain part of the game. On top of that it looks like an NES game. It works on windows, mac, linux, psp homebrew, xbox one, even a port to a TI-83/84. I have heard it also soon might be a downloadable game on Wii. Go play it. This game is very addicting. http://www.miraigamer.net/cavestory/

ImUrOBGYN
So, is it more platformer or action rpg or regular rpg? Sounds more like one of the first two. Now, if it's more action rpg, is it more zelda like or say, diablo like?
87GT
So, is it more platformer or action rpg or regular rpg? Sounds more like one of the first two. Now, if it's more action rpg, is it more zelda like or say, diablo like? You kill things and it drops diamonds that slowly level up your weapon. You start off with a gun once you find it. Once you level up it shoots more and longer (sort of RPGish). You find a missile launcher and you have to get missiles from killed enemies (metroid). Your health starts low and you can find hearth capsules that increase your max health. It even makes the same sound effect that metroid does when you pick up an item. To get health you can kill enemies and they drop hearts to refill (zelda). Once you talk to an NPC you get a box with their picture and their dialog just like any normal turn based RPG. There is a lot of jumping and a crap load of rooms and levels to go to. It feels like metroid and castlevania. Srsly go download the 50mb free game and see for yourself. I generally only play one 'crappy' game at a time. For the last couple days, it's been Ge.ne.sis. It's been good at time wasting. It's a flash rpg on Armor Games. Kinda fun. Sounds a bit more traditional rpg than Cave which is to my liking. Used to play Sonny 2 and, hmm. Shit, there was another fun one but can't remember it offhand.
