Dollar is being devalued so much, it's actually more cost effective to build in America for the American market than to outsource assembly overseas and then ship them over here.

what? why not? Unless you think VW will only sell this new midsize sedan for the next 12 months then stop production?

 

Because it stated in the article that the plant won't open until Spring 2011 and they won't hire people until just before.

touche', i thought you meant they would work for 12 months, then be laid off. reading comprehension obviously owns me.

 

Hell even if they dont start work for another 12 months at least they have SOMETHING, maybe deliver pizza's in the meantime?

A least they are keeping it inside the US, japan could just take there production to South America if they really wanted.
