evan9381
a used BMW wouldnt be too bad...i'd like to get into one...i think i owe my life to the designers of the car...heres what i did to a 93 325i...flipped it and rolled it through the woods when i was 18, so it was about 8-9 years old at that point...landed on the roof after tumbling thru the forest, unbuckled my seat belt, fell down onto the roof, and crawled out http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC00001.jpg?t=1258697989 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC00002.jpg?t=1258697989 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC00003.jpg?t=1258697989 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC00004.jpg?t=1258697989 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC00007.jpg?t=1258697989 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC00008.jpg?t=1258697989 so i'd say go with the BMW. whats the hang up on RWD though? what about something like an s60? safe for the kids, decent luxury factor...my dads got an 04 (IIRC)...its a pretty nice car. I would venture to guess you had no passengers...otherwise i bet you wouldnt be saying that about the car.... But i agree with everyone too, look for a similar BMW. 4 doors, fun, and safety are definately what youll get
AudiOn19s
E36 M3/4 is a solid choice. E46 330i would be another solid option and they're right around 10K now for early ones. Only about 20hp short of the E36 M3. Drastically different in many perspectives depending on how you really intend to use the car.

Trouble Maker
For the cars in the IS300/3-series/etc size range make sure they can fit car seats in the back. I don't know about those specific cars, but it was often a topic of discussion on the s4 board on audi world about which car seats could fit in the back. They were few and far between. greg1647545532
Can't go wrong with a BMW as long as you don't mind the maintenance costs, but like someone else said, don't get hung up on the RWD. Have you driven a TSX? Not the fastest thing ever, but it's so well done, and priced right.
