RyM3rC
Oh man, look at all these problems! Who in the hell voted for this thing anyway? Did they just round up all the bums in buses and take them to the voting stations? While we're at it let's legalize prostitution and marijuana, hell I'd rather have those than casinos. Sam1647545489
I am all for the casino. Its gonna give alot of local construction companies alot of work, alot of local material suppliers alot of work. Then once opened all the people that work there will be local people. So it will help boost Ohio's work force I think.

RyM3rC
If you don't want a casino, tough... just don't gamble there. Sit down and shut the fuck up. Just for that I'll stand and talk, so there. So you want me to bury my head in the sand? That isn't going to fix our state constitution now is it? How about we amend the constitution to say I am the only one who can legally sell marijuana and alcohol, and everyone in the state has to come to my businesses to get it. Yeah, BS right? Easy for you to say. I don't live anywhere near it, and won't be burdened by it's detriment to society. You voted for it and now you're stuck with it. Crossle
It's not the casino, it's the fact that the issue is an amendment to our state constitution to give a monopoly to one owner. This

Sit down and shut the fuck up. or just hang around for another 2-3 years as they will fail/close because we can't support the retail and entertainment facilities we already have, then turn back into the hood and eventually be torn down like most everything else. You guys act like homeless, crime, prostitution and marijuana aren't already present around Columbus. A casino isn't going to bring anything new, other than jobs and another reason to bring business downtown after business hours. BTW, I'm all for legalization of marijuana.. the gov't needs to tax the fuck out of it and actually make some money.
TTQ B4U
2-3 years from now the economy will be on its way back up.. they'll be fine. You're optimistic. This is going to play out longer than most expect. Then I foresee some pretty high inflation headed our way. What Obama is doing isn't going to help us recover anytime soon. IMO, we're seeing the tides go out to sea just a bit....but that's what happens prior to a Tsunami.
Sparky
Saw on the news about another potential amendment to our constitution to let the individual communities decide whether or not we get a casino. The issue isnt set in stone yet.
V8 Beast
We dont need multiple casinos so it would pretty much be a monopoly anyway. Changing the constitution is a stupid idea, but what impact will it have in the long run?? I dont know so if someone can shed some light on it for me please do. Its pretty much about having a place to go, drink, and spend money. The business behind it will be positive to some and negative to others. We can play guessing games until the cows come home but we have to play it out to see. If its like a Dave and Busters with black jack tables it will go under anyway. This is Columbus, Ohio and unfortunately, that's exactly what I expect it to be. Only it will have a ton of shitty slots where people will simply slide in their tax donations to help the city/state. Look at the presidential election, most people that voted in that did not vote during this recent election season. I was pretty offended at the racism of that shit. Was that complained about....no. All this Bull about you don't like him cuz he is black, when people voted for him just cuz he is black...last election proved that. Where were all the people that voted in November? koolrayz
We can play guessing games until the cows come home but we have to play it out to see. It is not a guessing game it is called history. This is not the first area to allow Casino's in America. It will play out just like the other want to be gambling areas in the US. While I have not been to anywhere near all of them I have been to a lot of them and I still think Vegas is the only worth while experience there is. IMHO As others have pointed out, these establishments provide/produce NOTHING. They take money and give the largest % to the Government (bad idea) and crooked business men (worse idea) If you buy a television or a heads cam package the salesman makes money, the service centers, warehouses, manufacturer etc. There is a big trickle down that does not happen with gambling Yes there will be some construction and some shitty service sector work created. HOOORA Dont get the idea I am some anti gambling nut job. I really enjoy gambling. I would guess I will go 3-5 times a year to these new establishments. Thats all money that will stay in the state. I believe most of there business will be a similar clientel. The problem is the "other" clientel that cant afford nor can control there impulses and literally take the food off of there families table. RyM3rC
What? I think he's saying there was a suspiciously unusual turnout for the 08' presidential election. People that don't usually vote did, and they haven't returned to the polls since. There was also something about Obama getting elected partially because of his race... is that enough? Is that more understandable?
greg1647545532
I think he's saying there was a suspiciously unusual turnout for the 08' presidential election. People that don't usually vote did, and they haven't returned to the polls since. There was also something about Obama getting elected partially because of his race... is that enough? Is that more understandable? Oh, I see. Well, according to this link: http://elections.gmu.edu/voter_turnout.htm Voter turnout amongst the voting eligible population was around 60% in 2004, and 62% in 2008, so I'd argue that there was nothing suspicous about the turnout for the '08 election. And off-year elections always have extremely low voter turnout, especially odd-numbered years where there's absolutely nothing going on at the national level. That's just common knowledge, and anyone who's shocked that the 2009 elections had a fraction of the participation of the 2008 elections is pretty ignorant. There's also no statistical evidence that Obama's race had anything to do with anything, and I'm really sick of people bringing something up that's so easy to refute. Diamonds
I am against it.... My answer - Drugs, hookers, crime... eventually we can be our own Youngstown!!! Casinos in cities---- raise tourist & homestead population and lower quality.
