Guest Removed
I'm not sure that there's much of a demand for something like this. IS300 owners are fairly methodical with their modifications (NA-T, GTE swap). It's a good thought, but I don't see there being enough of a market to make this extremely lucrative. its not about demand..its about cool factor I think an LS1 has been stuffed into just about everything at this point. even pauls sister http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr148/v8m3/lexus018.jpg http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr148/v8m3/lexus020.jpg I can't view photobucket at work, what did I just post pictures of? where did you find those...i have been digging and couldnt find any thing...is there a build thread? greg1647545532
I asked a guy I know who's into IS300s, he sent me those. I asked where he got them, still waiting to hear back. He said it's a Euro spec IS, FWIW. I'll let you know when I hear something.

Guest Removed
Do it then. I do require to be one of the test drivers, however. i require to be that guy, that makes kits for old ball swaps like this. 1st off, the ls1 has torque...no 2jz does, and the bigger the HD, well.. 2nd i can only really find the 80 early 90s cars getting all the swaps 3rd most swap in the toyota v-8's, and well, they dont make tons of shit for those at like say jegs now do they? that twin set up on the gte, sucks to work on. and i bet, a 5.3ls/t56 with a turbo or blower, would be way more fun to drive, and easyer to drift..oh and have way more torque! Littleguy
How hard would it be to do an LS1 1996 BMW 740iL? I may be asking for your help on this sooner than later.
ansonivan
Several people have done ls1 > e39 installs, the e38 platform is very similar and 740/540 share the same engine and transmission.

Primera
You want a project? I'm looking to import the AWD system from a Nissan Primera next year. It'd be the first AWD converted G20 in the States. We can talk about it sometime when I'm at the shop.

Nitrousbird
You mean audi 100 motor? Yeah, 3hp per liter or whatever a SBC makes is pretty sweet i guess Are you a fucking tard? Going to do the HP per liter thing? How about something that matters...like size and weight of the motor. Your precious little 4.2L Audi V8 is physically LARGER than a 7 liter LS7. Trouble Maker
Not really sure on the 'why' of this. It already has a great engine in it that can make power and is extremely reliable. Yes, you can make some more power and torque with a better curve a little 'easier' in the LS engine, but it's not enough to be worth the headache of the swap. It's a million times easier to go NA-T or GTE swap and make the same power and a little less torque. Sure, 5.0 in a Miata. I get it. Shitty engine originally. This I don't get.
