so im seriously considering swapping the cars fuel over to E85 because my fuel system except for the tank will be complete fresh. Ill probably need a bigger injector then the ones i was going to get, different fuel lines.

 

other than availability do you guys see any down fall?

 

for track days ill need to keep extra fuel in a tank for the car but thats about it.

Run the switch on the fly maps, run a e85 tune and a 93 gas tune. A lot of rb guys are using e85 for track type stuff then daily they use gas.

Thats what I am doing, very good idea. You will need about 30% more fuel

I thought the two gasses were not compatible. isnt that the reason many people tell you to swap out all the lines, tank and injectors because e85 is bad on gaskets?

It depends on how the car is set up, alot of places sell the biofuel pre mixed which people use in flex fuel cars. ( big in brazil)

 

E85 is an alternative fuel blend made up of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, hence the name “E85”

 

in the united states most the flexfuel cars or mix are only 10% ethanol which everyone calls "gasohol". but yes you can set the car up similar to a flexfuel car and run gas and e85, I personally know several guys on here that run aem ems in their evo with a e85 and gas tune , and have a toggle switch for on the fly map changes if they can not get to a e85 fueling station. Anything thing that I mod anymore will be e85 and gasoline. Good luck on your search and fuel build, personally ive seen alot of the big turbo inline 6 cars make crazy numbers on e85 compared to pump gas , its a win win type thing.

R154, clutch, flywheel, fork, slave, front drive shaft, basically everything i need except the extended shifter. finally going to be able ot hold power. i wish i took a picture comparing the old trans with this one in terms of beefiness.

 

also got my valve seals today for my car and then i got a brake proportional valve.

Brian Crower FTW!! He is a cool ass dude. I had a set of his cams/springs & retainers for a LS once and I called in to order them and he answers the phones himself. Pretty cool considering his last name is pretty famous in the car world

 

yea, he is really the only one to make a decent priced 1jz cam for the price i bought these 2 for I could have gotten one HKS, or JUN and they are special order if i could even find them.

 

Yummy!!!! Man Your car is going to be ever more gorgous, looks with an engine to back it up! Congrats man!

 

thanks man, Ive still got a long way to go. no "body" mods this year maby just new wheels and tires so i can hold this power to the ground.

 

quick side bar. What years did the sc300's run? Thanks

 

they ran from 92- 2001 IIRC, 92-93 is the same as mine 94-95 they changed the tail lights and in 97 they changed the bumpers and side skirts.

 

 

side note ill be pulling the head off today and dropping it off at the machine shop tomorrow or today if they are still open.

so brake lines are all finished up except one or two connections. I think I like to think i did a pretty good job with it and it all mounts up outta the way like i wanted too.

 

before you ask, yes that is where my tire rubs the frame.

ok soo update, ARP studs are here, Cometic 2.5mm HG is here heads back and assembled only major hold up is cam gears. AEM cam gears have been back ordered and everyone else Ive tried to get is just not right or what I want to spend extra for. HKS has a nice cam gear but only 3 allen bolts which people have complained that they have slipped before.

 

I guess i just manned up and got a set of Titan Motorsport ones. so as soon as those get in ill be able to get my engine back together.

yay so update time!!

 

heads back from being built built, I tore down the 2jz-GE I had so i can put my head on it. ordered my SARD fuel rail, Tomei fuel pressure regulator and my Titan motorsports cam gears came in finally so now im just waiting on my ARP studs and cometic 2.5 mm head gasket.

 

soo close and so far away!

 

next week im ordering a precision 60-1, precision 46mm wastegate and then finally my RC 880 CC injectors. Im also going to be having a swirl pot made for me.

when I end up ordering my parts I will also be dropping the valve covers off at the shop to get -8 AN bungs welded to it for the oil catch can.

 

Im also going to be relocating the battery to my trunk. Ive been thinking about doing a mild wire tuck in the engine bay any comments or suggestions?

 

 

BTW does anyone happen to know if the 1jz upper and lower pan are swappable between the GE and 1jz? im pretty sure they are just wanting a confirmation.

alright guys, ARP studs came in finally just waiting on the head gasket to come in, fuel rail to come in and then AFPR. i still need to buy my injectors and wire them up but i went ahaid and purchased the last and most expensive item.

 

TURBO!!!!!

 

its a T4, DBB and the smallest twin scroll produced by garrett. let the guessing games begin!

finally my head gasket and got to working. swapped the upper and lower oil pans, swapped oil pump, put the headgasket on head on and torqued it all down, put the cams on and got them set into timing, i just need to degree the cams in and get it set. valve covers are at slowmo getting -10 AN bungs welded to it. turbo will be in next week around Wednesday. Just a few more things to get and ill get the car all buttoned up.
