TTQ B4U
can you update it from the phone itself or do you have to dock it and install it? wife has one but it's on whatever OS is going since last fall. no issues or anything with it, so I'm debating if we should even do it, but I'm curious as she's never docked it to our PC. ICEMAN1647545504
I think you have to update through iTunes.

Rally Pat
Third party apps? As in Apple finally got their head out of their ass and we don't need to jailbreak our phones anymore?
unfunnyryan
As a droid owner, this thread gave me some chuckles Thanks.
justinwebb
3.1.3 was just released a while ago and it's useless it was just intended to break the jailbreak
dover
I was just informed of it today, yeah it appears to have changed nothing, false alarm.
justinwebb
Yea I saw it a bit ago but never updated as apple claimed it fixes the battery meter but really it was a new baseband that was supposed to prevent jailbreaking which is already hacked by the dev team. So if you want to possibly lose your unlock for nothing feature wise update lol
Rally Pat
I am not sure if its a problem yet, but in case Apps start showing up on the app store that require 3.1.3 and you want to keep your jailbreak, use this. http://www.iphonedownloadblog.com/2010/02/13/make-itunes-believe-313/
MackDaddy43
so i assume this will get rid of blackra1n jailbreak, until he re-releases it?
justinwebb
the dev team released their own fix for it, blackra1n was good but had some problems here and there. Geohot isnt going to release one for 3.1.3 as its a worthless upgrade

MackDaddy43
Looked on rock's post of it. Turns out 3.1.3 does NOTHING but lock out jailbreak and fix a rare battery issue. LAME....

FyrhzrdGT
The droid v. iphone battle makes me laugh. Do that many people pay an early termination fee, and piss away a $200 phone to switch carriers, sign a new contract, and buy another $200 phone because the screen is nicer? I never have, I just got the best phone my carrier offered, which happened to be the iphone. I also don't pay my bill, so that is also a primemover haha. Yeah the two most recent updates haven't done shit, I haven't altered my phone though.
