jeffro
just poking around in the accuweather forums, and it seems that a general consensus seems to think there is a giant snowstorm comparable to the blizzard of 78 on its way. theyre referring to it as "the big dog" and "storm of the decade" http://forums.accuweather.com/index.php?showtopic=17442

Doc1647545523
RELAX That's just a bunch of pencil-dicked weather geeks doing the equivalent of some bench racing. At two weeks out, they're good at forecasting sunrise/sunset and moon phases, but when it comes to knowing something as complicated as the local weather, they're notoriously inaccurate. I consider it lucky if they accurately predict a blizzard even 3 days in advance. I think I'll plan a barbeque for the end of February just to demonstrate the point. BloodRed
Yeah we will see. Not saying it couldn't happen, but at this far out, it could be sunny and 60* instead of a Blizzard.

zeitgeist57
998millibars is Tropical Storm-strength low pressure. Was that today or this week? If you told me back in December that the "storm of '78 redux" was coming this February, I would say that you were mad. After the last couple of weeks? I'm inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Winter tires are really earning their keep this year.

While you're at the store, get about 4 bags of charcoal and a can of lighter fluid. You're in charge of getting the grill going.
