just closed this friday. we've been renting for the past two years, and its good to finally own a house again. we've been cramped in a tiny 2 bedroom ranch with our family of 5 for the past 8 months. house is going to get some remodeling to the kitchen, master bath, etc etc.

here's the best part---the detached shop, separate from the 3 car garage. shop is 36' X 50'. has a 200amp box, and is plumbed for compressed air. large gas heater, 12' X 12' office, 12' X12' separate garage in the back for lawn equipment and the compressor. the door is 12' wide, 12' high. the interior is getting painted, all new lighthing, and the floor painted. it will be nice having all my shit in one place

thanks guys. we're pumped about it. the lot is just under 2.5 acres, and has a small creek in the back. the previous owner repaired heavy machinery in the shop--its dirty as hell. there are two 220 outlets that are finished, and 3 more 220's that need a breaker added, but are wired up and just have a 'block-off' plate at the wall. multiple other outlets have wiring going to the box, but just need a breaker, and the 'block-off' plate removed at the wall---there are already plenty of outlets, but the previous owner saw the need for an outlet every 4 feet. the shop is wired for speakers, cable, internet in the office, and fully insulated throughout. the rest of the house is o.k. too.

Were there no larger homes available, or is the Doctor thing not paying as well as expected? Don't worry Bud, things will pick up!

honestly, there's not a great selection of houses where i live. we got kind of lucky with this one. we quickly noticed that the seller was very recently divorced, and played that to our advantage. i honestly feel a little bad for puting the screws to him a bit, but that house would have taken over a year to sell in the current market, and he sold it in 3 months.

we thought about building, but my wife couldn't wait, and i couldn't deal with the stress of building a house right now in my life.

Congrats man!

Is this the place u were talking about that had the private walk down to the beach?

we originally planned on building a house on lake michigan--we even had a lot. i passed on the lot for now--just not ready to build a house, and not sure if i even want to live on the lake--its about 10 degrees cooler there year-round

Looks like a pretty sweet house. Any pics of the house itself, other than the basement? How many sq/ft? Looks mid-upper 3000's by the pics, but outside pictures can always be deceiving (such as our neighbor's house across the street looks a lot bigger than ours, but is actually smaller).
