NinjaNick
I was shocked to see how low on power it is stock and after the full system.http://www.gravesport.com/cgi-bin/shopper?preadd=action&key=EXY_09R1-FSChttp://www.gravesport.com/tProducts/?pkeys=r109full,r109cat,r109 Edited February 21, 2009 by NinjaNick

NinjaNick
...and temperature outside, altitude, etc, etc...It's low on power, nuff said.GSXR1000 and ZX10 are still the raw powerhouses!
R1Limited
Numbers = nothing.Lets see it on the track!
NinjaNick
Anything can be fast at the track. Why does everything turn into track talk? (roadcourse)Nobody here is a professional sponsored racer, except maybe "owndjoo".Majority of bikes are ridden on the street and that's all that matters.Power numbers do mean a lot when you're looking for a powerful machine. Moto-Brian
There are ex-professional racers on here... and Drew never got any tax returns for racing so, he ain't pro. Not a bash, just sayin'...As far as track talk, the idea is that the track combines a lot of things that allow these bikes to perform and show their abilities. Think Streets of Willow or Willow Springs when they test cars. The idea is that it is safer to test and stretch the abilities than on the street.Hell, they test them at the drag strip for 1/4 times which proves nothing in the real world...The thing with the dyno figures is that it depends on the dyno and the time and other things you mentioned. The numbers look a bit weak, but it could have been a number of reasons... Of course, not knowing what they did in terms of adding a Bazaaz, PC V, etc., if they just bolted on a pipe/system and got almost 10 hp, that's pretty damn good... McLovin
The new engine design may allow for more usable horsepower...so, I'm not convinced that it's a dud. You'll have to take in account of multiple numbers before you can jump to any conclusions...Give Yamaha some credit, leading in innovation is not always easy!!!
