96' Plymouth Breeze misfire issue

96' Plymouth Breeze with 2.0L engine

 

Engine is showing code P0300 - Random multi misfire

 

If A/C is turned OFF, engine runs smooth

if A/C is turned ON, engine has noticeable misfire and runs ruff.

 

You can be driving down the road with no issues and reach over and turn on the A/C and then the engine starts to have a miss.

 

Any ideas on possible cause?

 

Note: was throwing camshaft sensor code and that sensor was replaced.

look up any tsbs is my best guess

take the belt off and turn the compressor by hand my guess is that it will feel rough and or be hard to turn if it is the compressor is probably trying to sieze up and making it run poorly

Thanks for the help. Turns out the EGR valve was sticking open. Cleaned it out and now its running well.
