kirks5oh Posted July 21, 2010 Report Share Posted July 21, 2010 "A lottery is a tax on people who can't do math." -Unknown beat me to it. i always quote it that its a tax on those that did not do well in math class----same thing. gambling at a casino---i can understand. its entertainment, there's drinking, the social interaction, etc. etc. i can't for the life of me understand playing the lotto. sure, someone wins, but its such an astronomical longshot, you're more likely to trip over a dufflebag filled with $100 bills walking down the street than you are to win the lotto. Best way to have a good time there; sit at the bar and play video poker all night, they comp your drinks so even if you lose $50 you'll be plastered. 944s2 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Share Posted July 22, 2010 Same things with slot machines. I just can't understand them, Blackjack is ok, at least you have some control. But Poker is where its at. You don't play the house. Casinos lose (/read *don't make nearly as much as they do on everything else) soo much money on poker rooms, although they do gain some back at the other games while people wait for a table or whatever.
