PPC Tuned Ford GT

We had the opportunity to do some work on one of our customers Ford GT. It is an absolutely beautiful car! I have been drooling all over it the last couple of days in the shop. Anyway, the customer was after a little extra horsepower and wanted the car detailed. A pulley swap and a new throttle body brought power up to 610 rwhp!

The pulley swap is a little bit different than doing an 03/04 Cobra or even a newer GT500. Due to the orientation of the supercharger, the supercharger must be removed to gain access to the pulley. Also, the snout is not drilled like the Cobra or GT500. Basically, in order to do the swap, the snout has to be disassembled so everything can be pressed off/on and then reassembled.

Everything back together!

And the results.

We did some baseline pulls stock. All 3 stock runs were aborted early due to the car running extremely rich and then entering cat overtemp protection making it even richer. The car was headed towards the 500 mark or just a hair below stock.

The paint also had a lot of swirl marks in it.

I have no idea. I am not sure where he lives at. This is the second car we have done for him this month though.

Oh just wondering, my mom's friend's husband is great friends with the guy I mentioned. He has a plethora of lambos and shit tucked away in his barn.. and his red GT is his daily.

edit: nvm his wheels and license plate (from what I can tell) are different

Brady I hope you realize that you have some people's dream job. I am very jealous.

Thanks Scott. Yeah, I am very thankful to be in the position I am in. I get to do alot of really fun projects with alot of really cool people. I really cant imagine doing anything else. Looking back 6-7 years ago, I would have never pictured myself having the opportunities that have presented themselves. The last couple of years, we have really been growing, expanding, and stepping up our game. I am more stressed out now than I ever have been on a regular basis but I am also having more fun now than I have ever had.

That appears to be a dealer tag on the back. I do like the rims though. The stock GT rims are the one thing I do not like about the car. Well, that and the fact that I feel like I am going to take my head off every time I close the door due to the way the doors are made.

Ever sat in the original.. a '69 GT40? It's even worse! I rode in this before it turned into the sad pile it is today and wow.. I felt like a fat man in a little suit. Definitely earned its name as a "Ferrari Killer" from its day though (while it ran :().

No never have. I know the dimensions are close on the newer ones but I think the 05-06 cars are a few inches taller. I am 6' and my head is in the roof even with the seat reclined.

He's been restoring it since the 80's when he was our neighbor. Got it running for a little while but always had problems, then somewhere along the way he cut his losses and it sat in the yard :(
