BMW 328 changing Trans Fluid

Why do you want to change it? If it's under warranty, it's 100% covered....take it to the dealer for FREE!!!

 

dealer wont change it for you because they say its a lifetime item when it is absolutely something that should be changed.

 

edit: but I'm sure they will change it once its out of warranty. For a hefty price.

its got about 45K on it right now, like ryan said IMO it should be changed even though they say its "lifetime". Now I'm debating also to change the filter as well but obviously that involves removing the pan and could possible be easier for "them" to tell I changed it. Anyone's expert opinion?

Assuming you use BMW fluid, fill it to the correct level and don't change the filter the dealer should not be able the tell you've done a thing. That said, I wouldn't change the fluid until at least 60K and definitely wouldn't change the filter yet.
