Hello squad. Changed oil in my jeep last night as normal. Bolted it back up and i get 1/4 mile down the road and my gauge is pegged at 0 on my oil pressure gauge. Im wondering if I have a legitimate problem, or if my gauge is messed up.

Can anyone come up with a picture of the oil pressure sender wire or where it plugs in? I have a loose connector but im not sure where it attaches, and its raining outside. Too lazy to be lookin up under there.

Thanks

The cracked head issue is really only common on Jeeps with the "0331" head casting. A hairline crack will develop around cylinder #4. You will notice a loss of coolant long before you will lose oil pressure from damage caused by the crack.

My vote is that you either accidentally damaged the oil pressure sending unit connector or wire, or maybe you knocked it loose and it fell off while driving down the road. If all of these look fine then look into a possible defective filter. Out of curiosity, do you use Fram filters?

Could this be why my coolant is almost a brown color now? I am not leaking any or burning through it and I go from full to fill in about 5 weeks?

check you oil is it milky? Also you Jeep will not have the 0331 head. you more then likely have a head gasket issue.

It's not a difficult fix, my Jeep registered max oil pressure all the time. Not expensive either. Sending units are going bad all the time. Might take you 10 minutes to replace.

Rhett the 0331 head was on 00-01 Cherokees, don't know about the GC.

0331 head was used from 2000 to 2006 on grands, TJs, and XJs.
