I remember always lugging around 5-10 weapons but never having much ammo for any of them. As far as perks or whatever, Lockpick, Speech, and Strength (kinda) are the important ones this time.

It's totally worth it. I think F:3 had a deeper story and certainly more killing. This game has way more quests to run and more sides to play against. If you have a general idea about what weapons you want to use, hardcore mode is pretty easy. Also, if you skipmthe game update there's an easy glitch for as many caps as you want.
