MiDe84
So im stuck in Fort Lauderdale for the last 11 weeks and on my last day here the power at work goes out. Now I don't know if you guys are familiar with Florida but the power is iffy at best. I figured it was just another little flicker. But then the power never came back on. I walked out side to get some air and this is what I find. http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/Crash/th_IMG_0022.jpg http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/Crash/th_IMG_0020.jpg http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/Crash/th_IMG_0018.jpg http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/Crash/th_IMG_0016.jpg http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/Crash/th_IMG_0014.jpg Apparently the guy was diabetic and blacked out going down the road finally slamming into the poll. The speed limit on that road is 40 mph. He actually broke the poll and its being held up by just the wires. That car is fucked up.
iwashmycar
Looks identical to the Crown Vic I witnessed slam a 1' dia. wood one over here on Taylor a few weeks back at about 50mph or so. Sheared the pole in two but the lines held it just like that.
unfunnyryan
Sheared the pole in two but the lines held it just like that. That happened a few blocks from my house a while ago. Those lines must be pretty strong. Also: Florida = (old person + cadillac) = drive into pole.
Benny
I use to do line work. Most of those wires that the cable and phone hang from are rated from 6600 lbs to 10000lbs a few 16000. Power company uses bigger stuff then that. Ill bet the reason that they use concret is for hurricanes. Youd be amazed at some of the shit Ive seen cars and truck hanging in the air from poles. You know I did not even think it was for hurricanes. Good call I will have to agree with you on that one.
Not Brian
Florida has the worst drivers in the country.
Draco-REX
Florida has the oldest drivers in the country. fixed. Same thing though. There needs to be regular testing past a certain age that people CAN fail. When I was getting my OH license an old man came in to get his renewed. He had to be assisted into the building and to the counter, then was prompted through the eye test every step of the way and still had trouble understanding what he had to do. I'm sure he got his license. And he's not the only elderly person I've seen who needed to be prompted through the eye test. Frankly, it's not just a test for the eyes, but also for following simple directions. If you can't figure out "Center column 3rd row, Left column 1st row, right column 4th row" then you shouldn't be driving.

I'm still all for everyone over the age of 65 being thoroughly tested every year.

Car through a house- "diabetic" Car in a pond-"diabetic" Car into a DLP pole-diabetic. and my personal favorite single car roll over and the guy claimed gestational diabetes(which is brought on only by pregnancy).... 3 types of flordia drivers old people going 45 on i95 people on bikes going 120 on i95 and fresh off the raft people weaving in a car like a boat on i95
