HotCarl
So Im on vacation this week with not much to do. Already have a copy of Black Ops on order to pick up Tue, Other than that Im not much into gaming. But for those of you who are, I use to be into war strategy/strategy games like "red alert" and games along those lines, WAYYYY back in the day. Are there any games that are similar to those? I like first person shooter's just like everyone else but kinda wanted to go to MicroCenter and see what else they had.
unfunnyryan
I work at microcenter in the gaming department. Come find me. If you are looking for a good strategy game, nothing beats starcraft 2 right now. Theres a demo set up in the store if you want to play a bit. If you want to play a cool strategy/third person game, check out alien swarm on steam. Lots of fun for free.
jeffro
+2 on starcraft. i havnt had the opperdunity to play the second one, just the demo, but the first one was awesome. i still enjoy pwning some noobs with a mass hydralisk rush after about 10 minutes in a NR20 game . it takes some time to get used to because its all retarded and shit, but its fun as hell once you get the hang of it. also, age of empires 3 game about a few years ago, maybe 2 years, and its pretty cool. i have a copy of the second one somewhere if your interested in tryin it out. sol740
My all-time favorite RTS game series is Company of Heroes. Play it right now. And cause its old-ish (2007?) now, it's cheap.

Patterson
What about Fallout New Vegas? Is it worth it?
unfunnyryan
What about Fallout New Vegas? Is it worth it? Awesome game. I love it on PC, can't say much about it for consoles. It will give you MANY hours of play time.
Tshensley
Halo wars on 360 is actually pretty good. I was very skeptical coming from playing warcraft and starcraft, but its pretty good for being on a console
jerrodh
My all-time favorite RTS game series is Company of Heroes. Play it right now. And cause its old-ish (2007?) now, it's cheap. Company of heros + its expansion packs (if you want) is end all for true RTS fans. I really never had a single complaint, single player - multiplayer everything rocked. It really puts strategy in the mix too more so than many other RTS's IMO. And as said if you look around steam and other retailers you can get it and its expansion packs for dirt cheap. Tractor
If your a real nerd you'll play EVE-Online. Theres a good number of local people playing and they even have a gathering once per month for the extra dorkyness.
