I honestly hope they stay away from NASCRAP in the future..........

I was also unimpressed with the interview segment. It was too short, they didn't get into the discussion that I'm used to seeing and love.

Then it hit me during the commercials... We have commercials. TG US loses 20 minutes of screen time due to this and that's why that segment was short and there was no news. Essentially, this is shortening / removing the two segments that the US audience could potentially find boring and it displeases me

I was surprised out how much the creamsicle was shaking at high speeds, like the wheels were out of balance or something.

I was also wanting to see them line up 3 wide and drag race them.

They were out of balance because Tanner was drifting the car and destroyed the rear tires. He was complaining about it in the top speed run.

They took all the things that made the REAL Top Gear good...the awesome cars, the dry British wit, the simply amazing cinematography, the bizarre challenges, presenters with actual personalities...and applied the standard American-TV dumbing-down. They even somehow managed to make the Stig boring...and that's just WRONG.

Okay, I'll give them points for finding a Lamborghini tractor...there aren't many of those in the States.

+1

The editing was such a bad rip too. This is the US -- we should destroy them in editing style.

that s of no consequence....tanner is still a terrible host..too awkward

I actually find this surprising, because both times I met him and on his SPEED shows he seems to have a decent sense of humor and a pretty good personality. Hopefully Jalopnik is right and everything starts clicking around episode 3.

I finally watched it last night, and as to be expected I like the BBC version more, but that's just because of the personalities and my familiarity with them. As far as the show on it's own, I must say that it is probably the best car show on TV in the US.

In the words of Jeremy Clarkson "That's like saying 'Oh good, I've got syphilis, the best of the sexually transmitted diseases".
