Project Foyer

So got a bug to finally replace the linoleum tile we had in your foyer. It had started to shrink and come unglued and pulled away from the wall. Went the the decor and flooring store on Mill Run and found some engineered flooring that we really liked the color and patterns of. Anyway here are a couple pics.

Here's a before pic. the secton that cut out was the area that was already pulled away from the wall.

Needed a saw to do the work so I picked up this from Home Depot and for $115 was a good deal for the type of work I will be using it for.

pulled all the trim sanded it down and repainted it cleaned everything up installed the floor (which was surprisingly easy to do).

After.

Still need to counter sink some nails, caulk the trim, a do a couple touchups but overall very happy with the results. Glad we did a small area (80 sq feet) first time around to have a idea of how to do everything. Next up is the laundry room and half bath. Think we will do a mix of wood and tile but not 100% yet.

Looks very good. I really like the wood floor with the white trim. My house has all the older oak wood trim and crown moulding. We are in the process of painting it all white. You sound like you are doing things the same way I am...one room at a time....

yeah one at a time for sure. Found out I have to tear it all up and relay it thou. When we bought it was were told it was a floating floor. Turns out its not needs to be glued or stapled. Will staple it. Figure it its a lesson learned that the guy selling the flooring doesn't always know what they are talking about. shouldn't be too bad to do thou I figure since everything is all cut we be able to remove it stack it in rows and have it back in about 2 hrs.
