My husband has had both his back surgeries done by Dr. Chen associated OrthoNeuro at the New Albany Surgery Center. I would recommend both of them again. kirks5oh Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 he's looking for a neurologist, not a neurosurgeon^^^^ two completely different professions. i went to school with a guy named gregg figg----pretty sure he works at OSU or riverside. very bright guy, and extremely personable. he'd get my recommendation. kirks5oh Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 if you're looking for a spine surgeon, you will do no better than rob gewirtz (spelling?). one of the most talented surgeon's i've ever worked with. he does spine surgery, brain tumors, etc etc. he is absolutely slick in the operating room---pretty sure he works at riverside. as a bonus, he is an avid road racer. don't expect much bedside manner---his is not good. but if you're looking at brain surgery/spine surgery, you need a good surgeon---not someone who will 'hack you up' but is very nice.
