Back/Spine Doctor-type people..

I have an odd issue with my back. I don't have any real pain, just a small almost unnoticeable twinge in my lower spine. But if I twist a certain way, it almost feels like one of the discs in my lower back isn't there. It's like the bones are just sliding against each other. Which makes no sense considering the lack of pain. But it does make me worry.

Should I see a doctor with x-rays and all, or does this seem like something a chiropractor could diagnose? I'm thinking I should have this checked before the racing season starts this year. RallyCross is anything but a smooth ride.

Thanks

xray wont really show soft tissue like a disc. you'd need an MRI for that. it showed my bulging disc pretty clearly when i had it done about a year and a half ago.

I was hoping it would show the two bones touching, but that makes more sense. Yay...

im no doctor, but it'd probably be more beneficial to see if you have something like a degenerated disc

my mom works for a chiropractor on the NE side...hes been president of the central ohio chiropractors association, and then president of the ohio state chiropractic association...he knows his stuff...Farabaugh Chiropractic...its on 161 between cleveland and rt 3, on the south side of 161...right on the service road...898-1944. if you talk to brenda, tell her evan sent you.

but im sure if dr. rick showed up again he'd probably talk some shit. lol

If it is actually what you describe "Bones sliding against each other" then a chiropractor isn't going to help. Usually, people present with back pain and radiating pain/numbness with degenerative disc disease.

That's what's odd. I've had back pain in the fall the last two years. But it only lasted for a couple weeks and I think it was muscle-related. But right now I don't have any serious pain and can lift without issue. That's what's so confusing, and also worrying. I guess I'll see who my insurance works with in the area and see if I can schedule a look.

See your PCP and if they refer you to a spine specialist your insurance should cover it even if they don't find anything.
