Ef8sirJunkie
Im tired of the spider vein injection and its crappy gas millage. I was looking on Blazer forums and could only find the Marine intake manifold swap. Is there a cheaper alternative to swap it for an intake with 6 injectors? i will not start tearing it apart again to warm weather but would like to start finding parts. Thanks
Nickey4271647545519
As far as I'm aware, theres really no good alternative on the CPI motors
Cordell
The Marine intake is your only decent option, and it really isn't all that bad considering you can get it with injectors and rails for $500.
Ef8sirJunkie
Hmm. i have only seen the marine intake's for $450 none with injectors etc. still i am wandering of a cheaper solution. im just some more MPG's. Intake manifold, Injectors, Headers, exhaust, Intake, Then Tune. Spider vein is so GAY!
AJ
how long will you have to drive this to make spending the money on the swap worth it? if you spend $400 to gain 3 mpg thats just a stupid waste of money.
Ef8sirJunkie
This is why i was asking for a cheaper solution. basicly asking if i could swap anything from a later blazer 4.3 but i dont know to much about tbi, spider vein etc.
AJ
well they all get close to the same mpg.
Benner
Not sure what the setup was but a friends little brother has an S10 he bought that had an intake on it like you'd see on the LS series engines. It was a 4.3L as well. Never seen any like it since.
Buckeye1647545503
My work truck has the spyder type fuel system in it and runs fine and gets fine gas mileage. If it leaks or if the tune up is shit they will run like shit.
Ef8sirJunkie
Did tune up,water pump, feel pro headgaskets, feelpro intake manifold gaskets (the better ones), ngk plugs, autolight wires, cap rotor. no matter what i do it gets 17mpg. i've had this thing for years put maintenance in it just looking for better solutions. if i had an injector manifold i could get some bosch core injectors and lean my cruising and idle a/f out more and see hopefully 4-7mpg pick up. Nickey4271647545519
17 is better than most blazers I see, but it's a blazer you dont buy it for MPG. But I will say this the 4.3 is definitely capable of nice mpg. If I keep my foot out of it and drive like a sane person I can get 22-24mpg. (and thats a tbi 1st gen)
Buckeye1647545503
ya 17 is good keeping in mind it is turning a auto trans a transfer case and larger tires. It will never be a 1.5 honda
