zeitgeist57
I've been a fan of the RX-8 from a packaging standpoint...love the body and the fact 4 adults can still fit in it. Looks great in black. BUT, are you serious that - even with fuel injection and modern engine diagnostics - it still can flood in cold weather??? I might expect that from an FB or older FC, but wow... V8 Beast
She would flood it. Must get different car.
Rustlestiltskin
I had one for a year. 04 6spd. was fun to drive. not really fast but handled awesome. I never had any problems with it and got around 19mpg no matter if I babied or beat on it. loved the look of the car and the interior. BBQdDude
Clay, it is not a cold weather thing. If you move the 8 out of your garage and park it in the driveway. You most likely just flooded it. It is the quick starts and stops that causes the flooding. I LOVED mine, the thing is SEXY IMHO. Mazda should partner with Ford to put the Ecoboost in it.
Patrick
Mazda should partner with Ford to put the Ecoboost in it. Call it a Maverick. Or something from back in the malaise era.
Brendon
I know someone who has an 05 Shinka RX8, and it sounds amazing. He said it sucks to drive in the snow or rain, and it gets awful gas mileage. But he said it's pretty fast, and when it's dry, it's pretty fun to drive. Rotarded1647545491
But he said it's pretty fast Fast compared to a econo-box, perhaps. Fast compared to the average modded car on here, NOT EVEN CLOSE!
Brendon
Fast compared to a econo-box, perhaps. Fast compared to the average modded car on here, NOT EVEN CLOSE! Modded cars are usually a lot more powerful than anything stock. Would it being rotary have anything to do with it; do you think?
morabu
Mazda should partner with Ford to put the Ecoboost in it. truer words were never spoken
Rotarded1647545491
Because the RX-8 is rotary & modded cars are usually a lot more powerful than anything stock. I have a good idea how "fast" rotaries are, I've owned 3 and been "modding" them since you were in Kindergarten. To the OP, I wouldn't hesitate putting my wife in an RX8. Yasser-Hanbali
truer words were never spoken to hell with that idea, all ford did was bring Mazda down. im glad to see them on there own again. and yes N/A and Turbo rotary engines can be reliable its all how you take care of them. Littleguy
Here is a 2004 stock motor turbo build by Secret Services, a very reputable shop here in Houston: http://www.houston-imports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=607990 They seem to be happy with the results. Crossle
I drive a '08 Auto, man if it didn't have the paddle shifters/manu-shift it would have sucked ASS, sorta like a Porsche 944 with an auto.

V8 Beast
No want evo anymore ? That would be my car, she hates evo's. I got the Edge as a job/family car and dropped enough for a new car into the TA so its her turn. Now I have to find her one so I can start shopping
