Merle Kennedy at Northeast Orthopedics did both of my orthoscopic and major reconstructive knee surgeries. He did my mom's knee replacement. Both of us had great experiences every time and the incisions heal really well. I actually will be giving him a call again this spring to have my knees scoped again.

This is who did my torn meniscus repair, and my parents have used him as well.

I recommend him. He did great on mine.

Dr. Wilcox in westerville, he redid my knee the recovery was like clock work from what he said going to happen. He has done surgery on athletes like Brady Quinn, and acouple of the blue jacket players.

I had a shattered Patella (knee cap) and a tore MCL. So I was made bionic with metal! He also repaired the MCL and did a knee scope repaired 7 torn miniscus.

Dr. Steenson at Cardinal Orthopaedics in Hilliard.

+1000.

i've worked with many of the knee surgeons in columbus, and he is probably the best all-around surgeon in the city for knee problems, especially those in 20-40 year olds. knee problems come in all varieties. you don't want the guy who specializes in knee replacements doing your acl tear. here's a breakdown of the better knee specialists in the city

traumatic knee injuries (major fractures)---bruce french (grant)

pediatric knee injuries/problems (under 16 years old)---kevin klingele (children's)

sports related knee injuries (18-40 year olds)--bob steensen (mt. carmel)

knee arthritis (50+ year olds)--joel politi, adolph lombardi, keith berend, brian chambers, bob steensen--all at mt carmel.

bombach has retired. he's a good guy though, and is definitely a car fanatic.

lol at jim andrews. they smear his name all over the tv when you watch nfl games like he's the absolute best. if only you knew HE was not actually the one doing the majority of your surgery--its the fellow in the last year of their training. sure, he might be scrubbed in, and directly supervising, but he's not doing most of the work. either way, feel free to go to him (and pay out the ass) just so you can say you had it done by the best surgeon. kind of like saying i had my oil changed by the best mechanic in the world and paid $5k for the oil change.

Dr Andrews did it 10 yrs ago, and was covered by school. Honestly, i think the school become more disappointed than I did. Can't remember some of his cronies, I know one his top guys is in Cincy now.

well known surgeons train other orthopedic surgeons who want to be at the top of a certain field. its called a fellowship, and they typically train 1-2 surgeons every year---who then go on to work all over the country. the fellowship is not a necessary part of training. its something above and beyond, that allows you to master a particular facet of orthopedic surgery. i did a fellowship in tampa in hip/knee replacements with the developer of the 'gender-specific' knee replacement. these guys live like rockstars--its nuts.
