zeitgeist57
Compliments of CNN: http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/nuclear_power_plants_locations/index.html?hpt=C2 I grew up in Cleveland and upstate NY, and knew about plants nearby, but I didn't realize how many there are in the U.S.A... Also noticed that these are only powerplants...apparently the map doesn't take into account nuclear industrial complexes (like Knolls Atomic Power Lab in NY or General Dynamics nuclear sub plant in Mystic, CT). acklac7
Or the reactor at OSU I heard OSU shut it down? Always puzzled me why they had a big sign out front post 9/11 that said "Reactor building". Almost like a giving terrorist a heads up on where to strike. "Ahhh yes, Ahkmed, we are here, see sign..."Reactor building"

Draco-REX
I grew up next to Pilgrim Power Plant in MA. At one point it was rated the 4th worst in the country. Now it's one of the best. I remember when CNN was supposed to be about the news, and just the news, with as little bias as possible. Now they're doing stuff like this with a header designed to prey on current fears. What a joke they are now.
Gergwheel1647545492
I really thought there was one down on the Ohio river somewhere. At least there are giant smoke stacks down there that look like a nuclear plant.

Rally Pat
I like how they go out of their way to note which reactors have the same containment systems as in Fukushima. God I hate the media.

Rally Pat
AKA: one of the safest containment systems. Indeed it is, its a very safe system, but they don't portray it that way.

Draco-REX
Indeed it is, its a very safe system, but they don't portray it that way. And I'm sure they don't mention that the reason there are 4 damaged reactors instead of just 1 is because of the Anti-Nuke crowd. They made such a fuss that Japan's nuclear commission wouldn't approve any other sites. So as Japan's power needs went up Tokyo Power could only build more reactors at that one location. So they have 6 in one spot rather than spread out to prevent chain failures. And guess what happened?

Dr. Apex
Though it's a bit different, it doesn't show the hundreds of silos in montana, wyoming, and north dakota storing our nuclear arsenal!
