Because I like to go "overboard" with making things fast and Im afraid Id just end up messing shit up lol

If you had a tranny and the front end parts you should be good with holding plenty enough power to have fun with. Let me know if you decide to build a trans, I would love to practice with an allison ;)

"practice" and "allison" scare me LOL

Hey "practice" and "47re" turned out far better than expected. I didnt even have to pull it back out to fix anything!

That is a nice looking truck....did you paint it yourself or have someone do it?

Originally I was going to paint it myself but a deployment overseas got in the way once it was down to bare metal. When I returned home the place I had to paint it was no longer available. I had all the materials, tools, and knowlege to get the job done but with no where to do it. I eventually bit the bullet and took it to a local guy to finish a little bit of the body work and spray it. I got to be present and help with it still so I was ok. I took it there a year and a half ago but it wasnt until today that I got the truck back 100% complete.

Got some new rubber on for the track. Thanks Shanton!

Opened up a box in the mail to find this today!

Just a small S300 based turbo. One that should help me see some nice times at the track.

This has been machined to adapt the t4 housing to the t3 manifold.

I just realized how badly I need to clean up everything under the hood.

Stock charger coming back off and for the last time.

I have beat the shit out of this stock charger and it has absolutely no play.

Looks way to pretty to be in this engine bay

I was in a hurry to get the truck up and running for track day. I am waiting for a little bit to add the external wastegate and the nitrous. I need to get some other bugs worked out and some other tuning for this charger.

I took it out for a spin and it feels very strong. The roads were wet so I couldnt get crazy. It is a completely different truck now. I am going to need more fuel but I am getting close to the limits of my SOvp44 injection pump.

So I had it out for a for a few shake down runs on the street with some good results.

Cruising at 70mph

-4lbs boost

-925* exhaust temps

WOT

-I am seeing it hold around 50psi and around 55psi max in overdrive.

-1400* is the highest I have seen the pyro

For those that are not real big into the diesel world, the truck drives totally different. I have driven with many different turbos including similiar to this one but it still takes a little fine tuning for me to learn how to drive it different. I have to manual engage overdrive or it will smoke out a 4 lane highway. I do not think it is to laggy but the turbo wants to bark very easily in the midrange. It seems to want no boost or all of it when climbing the gears on its own.

I did a couple boosted 4x4 launches. The roads were a little wet still but I left at 10psi and would spin all 4 tires but pull very strong. On the track a 15psi launch is either going to hook and leave hard as hell, or its going to break something. I hope to get it on the track soon but the rain date will prob be the soonest I see anything. I think the nitrous is going to go on soon and a few other mods to come shortly.

I would do very very bad things to have this truck. My Ram is nowhere near this cool.

Great job!!!

Thanks. When I start to think about how much money I have invested in it, there is many times that I could believe stock is much cooler.

Are the brakes going to be straightened around for Friday. The weather is actually looking promising today and I want to see this thing run.

-Erik

Hopefully the rain holds out. Either way, the brakes arent going on until I get home from the base. So I prob wont be done and ready to go with the truck until after 8.
