Polar Bear at our Zoo

Recommended Posts

I went to the zoo when my wife and kids Sunday.

The polar bears were pretty active, swimming and jumping at the crowd into the water.

Columbus Zoo? The wife just bought a membership there. Can't wait... Neat pic, any more?

Yep. I bet Sunday was packed. We buy a 2yr. membership each time. I can't tell you how nice it is to have it. We live 5 minutes from there and go all the time.

Feel free to browse my public/family galleries here. Most all pics in the links under this are from our zoo. It's noted where not.

Kids love there. We did go twice last year, and now they want to go every weekend. I'll be over at the Monkey cage waiting for something cool.

We usually go every other week/weekend or so.

The Monkey cage is a trip. My son spit soda through is nose and about out his ears when one took a shit, the other touched it and then rubbed-one-out while standing over it. :bangbang: He had tear streaming. Poor kid was only like 6 too.

Yeah membership is worth not having to wait in line for ever. Sunday the parking lot was full and we were able to walk right up to the gate and get in.

I was helping my wife learn more advanced camera settings so I didn't take a lot of photos, just that one of the polar bear and a few of the kids. Wife was snaping away like a bandit though and got some from the underwater viewing area.

The company I work for made the glass for the underwater viewing area...that stuff was FUN to do. It is MASSIVELY over-built, you could probably spend an hour with a shotgun in there and not get wet... We still have one or two of the rejected pieces sitting about the shop.

A few of mine from Thursday, weather was perfect and most of the animals were out and active.

I love those tiger shots. What lens? It handled the brightness of the polar bears fringes great.

My guess was the 75-300

Sorry, I had to play :D Would try and remove the branch dead center, but that would take a bit more than I have in me tonight.

I obviously need to get you some pics of my car to play with, or better yet, just get the car to you to shoot.
