It seems like more localized and smaller twistters seem to do more damage. That tornado seemed huge from a distance, and when it got closer, it at least seemed much smaller than the reported 1/2mi in the video. Guest Hal Posted April 28, 2011 Report Share Posted April 28, 2011 I don't know a lot about the enhanced Fujita Scale (Anything with an E before the rating), but the original scale was based simply on the potential damage. At the time the scale was invented, there was no way to accurately and consistently measure wind speed (i.e., Doplar).
