kyc12340
Hey, I basically found a buyer for my E55 amg, If everything goes right the guy is flying here from chicago next week. Therefore, I need to buy a new car. Well, I was thinking about going back to Subaru, or at least along those line. But, I've always wanted a Vette, been looking at C5z s for a while, now I changed the direction to C6. I'm newb to domestics, so anything to watch out for? , How about this one, http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-corvettes-for-sale/2832720-2005-corvette-z51-six-speed.html Also, I'm open with other car choices. ! I don't want to spend more than 25,000$ as of right now. my other thoughts are ( another STI (04~07), Evo, E46, E9x )
AWW$HEEET
hmm i think we need like 5 more people with C6's. on a similar note, i dont think you will be satisfied going to an e46 m3 after your e55. tough act to follow for sure.
AWW$HEEET
993?
kyc12340
993? The ones I've seen some time ago, they were still on the high side? 30,000+? and cost of maintenance is questionable..
-Alex-
What are your plans for the next car? (DD, weekend cruiser, any racing?)
kyc12340
What are your plans for the next car? (DD, weekend cruiser, any racing?) Well, I don't think I'm going to road race anymore, maybe once, twice per year let's say So, My needs are daily, fun to drive, reliable I have another daily for now so it doesn't have to be a Ultimate(all-season) daily. AudiOn19s
993? Not a nice one. 996's are cheaper than 993's these days. I only got $26k out of my 996 aero car when I sold it 1.5 years ago.
-Alex-
I'd suggest a base 05-06 C6 over a C5Z then just based on the interior alone and the amount of time you'll be spending in it. I hate the interior on my C5, feels like I'm driving a Grand Prix when I take it out. lol There isn't really any big issues to look out for on C6's. I see you're already searching corvetteforum, which is you're best source for good deals on enthusiast owned vettes. It's pretty much common sense on them. The ones with a decent amount of performance mods tend to be owned by younger guys who have enjoyed them so they may have a few rock chips here and there and more miles but are reasonably priced, and the lower milage stock ones are the geezers who treat them more like a show car than a driver, but they are usually overpriced. I'd suggest deciding what you'd like to do to one if you get one, then look for one that already has most of the stuff done. Aftermarket stuff for them is expensive after the Corvette tax is added in, so if you have to pay just a bit more for one that already has what you're planning on doing it's well worth it. kyc12340
So what do you think about the one I posted, I think the price is pretty reasonable with bolt ons, "from the "pics"" the car looked really clean I'd suggest a base 05-06 C6 over a C5Z then just based on the interior alone and the amount of time you'll be spending in it. CRed05
Hate gay ass Automatic. That was the main reason i sold my E55 lol Nice! haha That vette looks nice too, seat looks like it's pretty worn for such a new vehicle.
-Alex-
That seems like a really nice car for the price. Add a cam and that'd be one bad unit!
kyc12340
Nice! haha That vette looks nice too, seat looks like it's pretty worn for such a new vehicle. What I figured with all the vettes ( or domestics perheps) seats get worn really easy I dno why. I hate worn interiors but Oh well. I will probably get it reconditioned if I do get it
Nitrousbird
This, except not in a gay ass automatic http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false That's not even a good price for that car. I saw a similar one (years/mileage/auto) without the Aero kit go for 16k. Manuals of that vintage/options/mileage go for high teens. That said, a 996 Carrera would get waxed badly by a C6. IMO an N/A 996 makes a good daily driver due to not being nearly as mod friendly (so you won't be as tempted to mod it), and does have a back seat, though only useful for small children or putting items back there. flat tire
05 C6 has a weak trans and rear so if you plan on driving hard plan on rpm to do a rebuild or c6z swap. btw ill sell you a 08 if you wanna spend a bit more.
SlowC6
try to find an 08 or up if you can afford it better motor, and some interior upgrades.

Hard to find resonably priced cars it seems..
