filling an ATV battery

ok, so how do I do it? I spoke with a guy at Autozone the other day and he said if it's a little low, you just put distilled water in it, but I guess my question is, how do I put water in those little holes? Also, do I have to fill each hole (cell) or are does the batter have an over flow so I only need to pour in 1 and it will fill the rest? Also, where do I find a funnel to get the water in and avoid splashes? The guy was talking about if it gets on any clothes, it will look like nothing happened until you wash it then you'll find holes all over everything because the water will activate the acid.
