Solstice 2JZ Swap. Easiest.Swap.Ever.??

So a few months ago a guy on the Solstice Forum said he was taking the engine out of his 2JZ swapped S13 and planned to drop it in his Solstice. The last 3 weeks he's been making steady progress, and everythings turning out surprisingly easy.

Parts run down:

2JZ

swapped oil pan to rear sump

stock solstice trans with 1JZ bell housing (bolts right on)

Stock 2JZ motor mounts (bolted right to the stock Solstice mounts!)

Now he's busy wiring it up, but so far the motor dropped right in. Trans is in the stock location so the shifter didn't even move.

How do the racecarrrr specs stack up? weight balance? curb weight comparison?

Lots of power in a decently designed little roadster doesn't sound like that bad of an idea??

Stock Sol: 2800-3050 lbs depending on trim with a 53/47 F/R distribution.

When it's all done he's going to put it on scales.

  • 3 weeks later...

It's running. The swap needed a little modification to the car (crossmember grinding, steering rack mods) and the it's come out that the motor mounts weren't a complete drop in, but it still went in pretty easy.
