04 Impala SS wheels

My parents have been looking at getting wheels for my Moms 2004 Impala SS.

I'd like to get peoples input and what wheels they would run on the car. Looking at staying on a 17" wheel, but might possibly upsize to 18s.

I've been looking at Elbrus I06 wheels. Any one know anything about Elbrus?

Thanks,

Nickey

Those seem to be the nicest on tire rack imo. 18 though on such a big car. Shitty wheel selection. The bremmer craft and the other brand with that similar style look good, but not sure on the impala. 18 again of course. Will the new style 18 inch SS wheels fit?

I had these Voxx wheeels on my old gtp, I think they looked good on the car. Mine were 18s, but I think they make a 17 too. Can't remember the model.

My first thought is why I don't like aftermarket wheels, cheaper ones bend easy, all of them are more of a universal fit so they take more effort to ensure a quality ride. The correct hub rings, a quality wheel, a quality install, and the fact that 99% of places that will work on the car are uneducated or don't care about proper install.

Its my pessimistic view that aftermarket wheels are a crap shoot unless you are going to spend good money or buy something OEM.

I agree, but at this point we're almost forced to switch from the stock wheels. GM did a horrible job with the stock wheels, Factory they are chrome and the chrome is just peeling off the back and look horrible. This is a known issue with these wheels yet they wont do anything. Even had 1 replaced when it was under warranty due to how bad it was.

you should run at least 18s on a car that big

Yeah, I'm trying to get her to go with 18s just to lose some sidewall on the tire. As soon as it get wheels, I think she wants to lower it more (factory lowered 1.5" compared to standard impy).

All GM chrome wheels are like that, the wheels on my Camaro that have never seen salt have a little corrosion in them.

I'd just get a set of these and be done.

Custom wheels on an Impala is ghetto anyway.

I was wondering what wheels those were. I plan to put some new rubber and wheels on our 05' Comp G here soon. Not a fan of the stock Comp G wheels.

My old wheels were Elbrus i04s. They were machined front with painted between parts, and cleared all over. Didn't take long before the clear started coming off. Big problem with that particular style. I cannot speak for the i06s, but you usually get what you pay for...

Right before I PlastiDipped them lol

Ya, I'm not a fan of chrome wheels that peel... These looked great on the car in person, and I could run fatter rubber.
