Drewhop
Went to Dawes Arboretum took a few pictures. It was more playing with camera settings but it was fun. Here are a few. Drewhop
Might as well post a few more. 1 http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/DSC_0195.jpg 2 http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/DSC_0143.jpg 3 http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/DSC_0138.jpg 4 http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/DSC_0256.jpg 5 http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/DSC_0255.jpg 6 http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/DSC_0253.jpg 7 http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/DSC_0244.jpg 8 http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/DSC_0183.jpg
TTQ B4U
Looks like fun was had. If the camera's clock is right, which it appears to be, mid afternoon is a harsh time to get photos. Try the same in either early morning or after dinner during the golden hour. Fall is a great time for late day photos since the sun is low in the sky. Mitch
nice shots. You've got depth of field down. Get a tripod and a nice ballhead and get some shots of your aquaria
TTQ B4U
Here's one where the subject trumps all others in the thread. Nice job using the stock flash. Most folks with a new camera wouldn't expect to need a flash on a sunny day, but that's when they are needed most. Try it next time with the Flash Exposure Value (FEV) at about -2 or -3 if it will go that far. That way you won't over expose the skin tones. You may even have to dial down the Exposure Value (EV) too. If that's Greek to you, I'll be happy to explain it. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/137419497/original.jpg

Yeah it was Saturday and it was freaking hot out. We plan on making a trip out there in the evening and closer to fall. Dawes is not that nice looking in August as it is during the fall. We got a few fish pictures Mitch. I will post them up in a few.
Drewhop
Just a few quick pics. They dont like to hold still. And if I move towards top of aquarium they go nuts cause they think they are getting food. And splash water everywhere. http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/Fish%20Pictures/DSC_0268.jpg http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/Fish%20Pictures/DSC_0273.jpg http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/Candynandy/Fish%20Pictures/DSC_0267.jpg
Drewhop
And that is not redeye on the Pike Cichlid he turns his eyes red when he is about to feed. When he calms down they turn almost clear and a black stripe shows up on his side. Hard to get a picture of him with black stripe tho. Soon as you come near aquarium he changes colors. I had Oscars and a good size Pike when I had tanks. A hobby I would love to get back into but time owns me. In fact we're about to tear down the measly little 29gal we've had to replace it with a book case.
Drewhop
What camera did you end up getting? A Nikon d40 Could not pass up the deal we got on it. Everything looks brand new and all the books and everything were still in the package never opened. Picked it up used for under 250 dollars.
