Ford V10

I had a 08 3V V10 and would put it up against any Motor out there, tons of Pwr/Tq. Smooth and quiet. It only got around 12 mpg but I didn't buy it for mpg. It was a beast of a truck and wouldn't hesitate buying another.

My In Law had an 00 Excursion with a V10 and it was the same way, they really are great Motors.

I don't buy that one bit......thats a ton of pwr from a a tuner, exhaust and CAI. Go on any V10 forum and no one sees that kind of pwr out of anything besides a blower. The stock exhaust flows really well already and a tuner/ cai isn't going to net you anywhere close to that. Might feel alittle, but nothing like that.

I wouldn't even expect the power gains, but if I pick it up, I will be looking to help the MPG

Looking at a F350- 2000, Auto 4x4 with a V10. Reliable? :dumb:

Girlfriends family has a 2004 F250 with the v10...reliable as fuck. They use it to pull a rather large horse trailer and haul all the necessary horse items (tons of feed, lumber, etc) and it runs like a champ. These people are NOT car people so I'm sure it has been neglected and it doesnt make a sound of protest. 80,000 hard miles.

The only complaint, as everyone else has said, is shitty MPG. I'd buy one in a hearbeat if I needed that much of a truck. My f-150 with the 5.4l is more than enough truck for towing cars, bikes, boats, etc.

I cant pass on the deal- thats why I ask. And If I was worried about MPG's, I'd sell all my cars and buy a fucking Prius. Fuck that. Fuck mother nature. :fuckyeah:

Details if it does down.

Check with 5 star tuning out of NC He's a wiz with the V10 motors and specializes in Truck Performance. He can set you up with an SCT tune that will help with MPG, shift points, etc etc. For far less.

I had his tune on my 08, but I only ran the 87 tune, his 91/93 tune is crazy.

Sounds like my parents.

Use truck exclusively for heavy towing and heavy loads in the bed.....change oil once per year, neglect everything else.

Troyer has an in house Dyno. A good customer of mine has had them do about 5 trucks for him, including a V10.

This guy is about 75 years old, and anal as hell. I seen his dyno sheets before and after and it was almost 100hp

He also logged 3.5 mpg better on the trip home than the trip there.
