FYI to those that may be interested in going:

In honor of the lives of those lost during the Sept. 11th attack on the United States a tribute will be held at Coffman High School known as the Dublin Field of Honor. This is a 48 hour vigil to provide the community a place to reflect, mourn and remember the almost 3,000 people that lost their lives on that day 10 years ago. The display, which will include 3,000 US flags, will be held on the practice field at Dublin Coffman High School. The Field of Honor will begin with an opening ceremony at 7:00 pm Saturday, Sept. 10th and end with a closing ceremony at 6:00 pm on Monday, Sept. 12th. During the time of the display, Dublin police and other volunteers known as "field keepers" will remain at the Field of Honor at all times. The display will remain lighted during the two-day memorial. There will also be a "Wall of Remembrance" during the weekend which visitors can write a message on. Sunday, a pre-recorded message will be played, announcing the names of all the victims of the Sept. 11th attack.

Middle and high school students from public, private, and parochial schools in the Dublin school district will read the names. In addition, bagpipe tributes will be played on the hour, every hour, from sunrise to sunset on Sunday. We hope you will take some time out of your busy schedule this weekend to visit the Dublin Field of Honor. Like Sept. 11th, 2001 it will be something you will never forget.
