Looked like the head just blew off of it. Idk how that even happens. It was probably clamped down w some good hardware.

 

exactly, there looked to be issue halfway into the pull when it was smoking heavily, then it seemed as the head studs just stretched and snapped. probably some poorly made bolts, one thing for sure though that company would be getting a call the day after.

I wish I could show you some of the failures I've had. Small end rod failures at 9500 rpm are pretty exciting. Similar to the video, but with more fire since the oil sprays on glowing red headers. I have dents in the cells sound proof wall as a reminder. Sucks to clean up though.
