I outgrew the bench I was using before, so decided to build a full 4x8 bench/assembly table with a maple melamine top.

Framing coming together

Used pocket holes for everything

The melamine top is mounted to a 3/4" particle board layer to eliminate "bounce" and the legs have been reinforced by doubling the 2x4s

Built the table at the same height as my table saw / first set of boards on the table

Finished product / lots of space for tool & misc storage

I'll get some better shots once the rest of the garage is cleaned back up. Things got moved around a lot during this built so it's kinda messy currently.

Pretty nice. I had a total of $75 in this bench.

I think mine came out to about $80. I didn't put in the lower shelves because I had different storage I wanted to put under there. I'll never criticize someone who chooses to build their own vs use the kit or vice versa. The only thing I will criticize are people who say they need a bench but don't have the time to build one when there are kits like this out there.

My wifes boss had a old counter top that she was going to throw away so I picked it up and another one and used left over wood we had from previous projects to build mine. The one thing I wanted for it to do was to keep my toolbox under it.

This spring I plan on finishing the garage (mud and paint) then I will put up a peg board along the back side. Also want to build a shed and get all the yard stuff in it.

That's what I did this summer. Built an 8x8 that's 10' tall. Got a TON of stuff out of the garage and house.

This was before paint.

I saw that on your fb page. I plan on building a 8' X 10' shed.
